ICE: Drop the Hold on Luis!
URGENT: Luis, father to two U.S. citizen children, is being held at Cobb County Jail in Georgia with an ICE hold. Tell ICE to drop its immigration hold on Luis so he can go back home to his wife and children!
Luis has been living in the U.S. for the past 17 years. On Dec. 16th, he was stopped on his way back from the hospital, where his young son had just been treated. He was arrested and could be moved to ICE detention any day.
Please help us raise money for Luis' legal fees. Every little bit helps!

The Petition
To Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security, John Morton and Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano:
We, the undersigned, call for ICE to immediately lift its immigration hold on Luis Felix Cruz (Inmate #914 404).
On December 16th, Luis was stopped by a police officer on his way home from the hospital, where his younger U.S. citizen child had just been treated. The officer asked Luis for his driver’s license and, when he couldn’t provide one, the officer arrested Luis in front of his wife and children. Luis is currently in Cobb County Jail in Georgia. Instead of being released, ICE placed an immigration hold on him and he’s now in the process of being transferred to a detention center.
Luis was born in Mexico but has lived in the United States for the past 17 years. He has a wife and two U.S. citizen children, who are only 5 and 6 years old. If Luis is deported, he will be separated from his two young children who will be forced to grow up without their father. Furthermore, Luis’ wife will have to raise their children alone, with no emotional or financial support from Luis
According to the memo issued by John Morton, Luis is not a priority for deportation and should be released from Cobb County Jail immediately. Luis is an outstanding father to his two children and has no past criminal record. Luis exemplifies what it means to be an American and should be allowed to stay in the U.S. with his wife, two children, and a community who loves and supports him.
We, the undersigned, urge ICE to immediately lift its immigration hold on Luis Felix Cruz (Inmate #914 404).
